People & Inspirations: Interview With Jinna Boo of Grease & Glamour

Talented, brilliant, and gorgeous are immediate words that come to mind when in the company of Jinna Boo the creator and founder of the fashion blog Grease & Glamour. Looking back at then and now I can see how Grease & Glamour and the mastermind behind it all have grown in all the right directions.   A true NYC blogger that today I'm glad I get the opportunity for one on one time in getting to know Jinna Boo a little better and what's to come of her blog.

Bonus:

How did Grease & Glamour start and what was the inspiration behind it all?
Grease & Glamour was inspired by New York City. I came up here 3 years ago to follow a dream of a career in the creative industry. I was immediately inspired by what NYC represented for me - a juxtaposition. Grease & Glamour is all about that - it’s focused on allowing people to choose their own experience while exploring my personal style and fashion through my eyes. I always tell people - NYC is the only place where you can walk down the street in Jimmy Choo heels while a homeless person chills on the side of the street. With any industry, not only fashion, there is no such thing as all glamour. There is so much that goes on behind the scenes that no one knows about, and I don’t think we should have to limit ourselves to one particular part of life.

What is your absolute favorite part about being a blogger? The freedom to express myself and participate within the community. Plus, I don’t have a boss.

What’s up and coming for Grease & Glamour? Lots of on-air projects, along with some fashion week surprises! I’m also looking for interns... ;)

Something your readers don’t know about you - I’m a total goofball and I want to become a comedic actress. I would gladly make a fool of myself to make others laugh... with me not at me, though. =P

What are you hobbies aside from blogging? Photography, acting, singing, painting, DIY’ing - anything creative, really.

How would you say social media has influenced/changed your blogging life and what networks can we find Grease & Glamour on? Social media has put me closer with a lot of people I would probably never would have had the opportunity to communicate with. It has also made it completely impossible to play hookie.

What advice do you have for aspiring bloggers? Work WITH bloggers, not against them. We should be a team and it’s a shame that there’s so much competition. Do a lot of linking, a lot of tweeting and a lot of meeting with other bloggers to develop real business friendships and friendly partnerships.

Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?
On TV, somewhere. Hopefully stealing the “Man vs. Food” host’s job.
